Had 2 new friends at the mill yard today. They both stayed and watched me most of the morning .
The pigeon wanted to get in the shop for some reason  :o

Take steps to save steps.

If it won't roll, its not a log; it's still a tree.  Sawmills cut logs, not trees.

Kiln drying wood: When the cookies are burned, they're burned, and you can't fix them.

Sawing is fun for the first couple million boards.

Got the slithery ones in my log pile too.  As long as they don't have rattles or red against yellow, I like em. 
For birds, I've got wrens that try to nest under the mill cover when I'm not milling for a few days.
