So after years of curiosity, I bought a tin of anchovies and am currently sampling them.

After a few fillets, I think my blood pressure might be  like 975/600.  These things are salty!

What do normal people do with them?

Put them on crackers with plenty of cream cheese.

Those salty little minnows are used  for making worchestershire sauce .In my opinion the best usage.

Jeff

Trade em in for a tin of sardines. Much more palatable.

When I was in college, we ate them on Triscuts. A little fish and a lot of cracker.

Sardines in mustard, not bad .Sardines in oil not good .

Anchovies remind me of the dried nasty smelly fish old men ate when  was a kid .They washed them down with beer in quart bottles. If they gave them to the dog most likely the poor dog would lick his behind to get the taste out of his mouth.

They are also part of 'Green Godess' salad dressing and cesar salad.

I got a can today but I only like them now and then. They are also made into a paste in a tube which is less tickeley but still needs lots of cream cheese and a cracker.

The first time I ever saw that was at an FFA banquet when I was probably ~16 years old.  This country boy had never seen such and I can assure you that it was not eaten.  Neither were the others at my table, and we called them "worms".   :o

I had dinner with some people in Washington state one time. They asked if I would like some oysters. ack! gag! barf!

Chuck White

I've only ever eaten one (1) oyster in my life and that's only because I thought it would be too rude to spit it out!

I like a few on a pizza with few being a key word, it's an intense flavor. The wife doesn't like them so it's been awhile since I had any.

Love them.  My favorite is bagna-cauda .... hot olive oil, anchovies and garlic.  Dip raw veggies or bread into the "hot bath", a kind of Italian fondue.
