Hey guys,  My wife is wanting us to build a roof over top our existing roof.  We live in a 3/12 modular with scissor truss's and we have been remodeling over time to make it look less like a modular, which inside we have done.  However it's hard to get past that 3/12 pitch that most modular or (doublewides) have.  has anyone seen it done or done it yourself?  I am concerned with cost, load and pitch, it may need to be more than 6/12 to clear the old roof.  any insight would be appreciated.  Thanks

All I can offer is a reminder that the existing roof trusses are likely not strong enough to help support the new roof.
You may think that you can or may think you can't; either way, you are right.

Your outside bearing walls may also be inadequate for the weight. :snowball:

Are the walls framed with 2x6 's ?
You can't load bare on the existing trusses .
Go to a truss shop tell them what you have they might have some ideas .

Yep, just call the truss shop/lumber yard.  They will design to suit.
