The funny thing about a forum like this is the many conversations are immortalized. I am a avid woodworking with my focus on cabinet making, but I think like any wood lover I love the look of timber framed structures. 

I am now working on a pergola, a simple project, but a great way to try out timber framing. In the process I think I now read a 'book' worth of information form this site. 

I just wanted to thank everyone for their contributions! It has been wonderful to read so much real world advice.
