The locator map in my profile is broke, won't load. Tried it on 3 different computers and 3 different browsers, including the latest windows 10. Hhmmm, wonder about the member map.. Sure enough, same problem..Anybody else ?

@Jeff can answer this better but I think that the member map and everything associated with it are a thing of the past.  :-\

Google no longer provides the ability to connect to their system for free. It would cost hundreds of dollars a month to run the service due to the amount of traffic we get.

Kinda figured somethin like that. Was nice, but not a necessity.

That's typical try to squeeze you for every penny they can get. Is it possible to make a member location ie country, state or province without a map? The one could PM the member for information on the services they may offer.

How about an address in your profile linked to Google maps?

I was thinking of something like the Woodmizer local sawyer locator.

Jeff

If you look in your profiles, there is a place to put your location that is then searchable using the member search.

I just did a little creative editing.   If you fill in the searchable location field in your profile, it will make a link to google maps.  You can be as precise or as non precise as you wish.  I put my address in, but you could leave out the street address and just list the town.
Check it out on my profile.  ANyone that has added a seachable location already, this should work.

I updated my profile and the location is exact.  My GPS won't find it but Google Earth did.
