Chainsaw mill idea?

I purchased a Stihl 084 and an Alaskan chainsaw mill.
I have an idea that I would like some opinions on.
I am thinking I can use barn door, square tube tracks, and "hang" the sawmill from them using the rollers that are designed for them. I would use 2 tracks, and 4 rollers on the mill. The ends of the tracks would be attached to  lifting devices to adjust depth of cuts.

I have seen chainsaw mills with the tracks on the ground, and believe that my idea would eliminate a lot of log lifting and maneuvering by positioning the mill over the top of the log where it sits.

It might work but imho would defeat the simplicity and portability of the mill not to mention the cost. Some band mills straddle the log, you might look there for ideas.

Some of the swing-blade mills do too.  There's a British hydraulic bandmill that looks like the whole track that the carriage and saw head ride on move up and down above the log deck; I guess you have to put it all the way up and roll the logs in underneath...

Should work.  Would be like building a swing mill frame (kind of) to hang it on.

I could see pallet racking being useful with preset height adjustments built in. 

Only concern with the barn track is getting sawdust in.  Overhead will keep most out, but what gets in will be harder to get out.  Not saying don't do it, but it may be worth looking at other wheels and angle iron for track.  I generally think of 3 out of every 2 problems that come up.   ;)

The log furniture multi-tool is awesome!  That is something I believe you could market!  I want one!
