I am in need of a good species identification book for trees that predominantly live in the Carolinas, Virgina, and Tennessee.  I need something that identiifes by bark, since  the logs that I get do not have any leaves on them.  Plus, in winter a book that only identifies by leaves is not much good.  We have a bunch of species of oaks and pines here in NC.  I know many already, but sometimes I get something that looks like one I know, but there is just something that is a little different.  Does anyone have any good suggestions?
