Title: log splitter lifter

Are there any engineer types out there who have any design ideas for a log lifter for a log splitter?
I'm not getting any younger and encounter some large blocks from our woodlot (30" elm and maple are not uncommon).
It will lift 17 1/2 from ground to level using a 2" bore cyl. with 3" stroke,mounted under 6x6 I-beam horizontally (preferably.

here is how I made a lift for my splitter.  the frame is 2" angle iron with 1/2" rebar welded across it.  the cylinder has an 8" or so stroke on it, I can't remember.  the only problem that I have with it is that it moves very fast with that 16gpm pump on there.

  I recently got a swiveling crane for a pickup, and mounted it on my splitter. Its all manual, slow, but it works. Sure saves lifting large blocks by hand
