I recently had a request for a 362XP. Husky Canada tells me they are not bringing it in because they do not see a market for it. It's predecessor, the 262, was a weak seller.

I'm new to all of this.  But for a user that wants a decent power and weight the 362 would fit.  The market for ms361 would be the same right? I know they have the 357 just seems to be a big gap up to 372.

Whats wrong with the Jonsered? The husqvarna is a great saw.....you don't want to go from a red to a stihl.....that would be like trading a landrover for a suzuki sidekick

Uhh...  That's a foolish comment.  Have you ever actually used a Stihl chainsaw (much less the MS361)??  I've used both Huskies and Stihls and they are both great saws.

Whats wrong with the Jonsered?   Nothing That I know of I just never used one.  I do have a local dealer that people speak very highly about.  I know they sell the 2165 T which would also fit in that power range.  The local shops all sell Echo and Husqvarna.  The local hardware ( True value ) store sells Stihl.  Lacks good service.

The 362xp (and 365) is just too heavy and bulky for its power, unlike the 262xp and MS361.

The 365 is very popular here, one of our best sellers with a 22" bar. I think the 362 fails because the 357XP will keep up without the extra weight.

I've had a few 365s and it is probably the best saw, in terms of reliability and durability, that I have ever owned.  It is not really a powerhouse and I think that a 22 inch bar is probably the optimum choice.  Having said that, I want a little more power and I probably wouldn't buy one again but I am felling a  lot of 20 to 36 inch butts.  A buddy uses a 357 and likes it.  The point about local dealer support can't be said enough.
440B skidder, JD350 dozer, Husqvarnas from 335 to 394. All spruced up

What ever happened to kototama who started this thread so you guys could carry on without him? I was hoping to see some pictures from the continental divide in NM. Guess he got scared away when you chainsaw guys hijacked his thread.  :D

When I keep seeing this subject back up to the top, it reminds me of my father in law. He was in his 90's when he passed and every year he would trade for a new car and then tell me "this is going to be my last car" and I would remind him that he said the same thing last year.   ::)

He also liked to buy chainsaws and he used them to cut firewood regularly. His favorite kind was one he had not bought before. He even bought one years ago when credit card companies would offer guarantee's on anything you bought with their card. He left it in the wrong place one time and dropped a tree on the saw and wrecked it. Yes, they bought him a new one.  ;D

When he passed away, he had fourteen saws, some still in the box. He always said, "you can never have too many saws!"  8)

Gary, great story about your FIL :)

Seems to me that the Husky 350 would be just fine for five cords of firewood a year.  Of course in a chainsaw forum bigger & more powerful always  = better!

This is may be the last saw for me.  Wife wants me to hang up the "wood getting" and start buying.
Josered 2152 let us down this week and will be looking at getting a new saw -----or not.
Like what has been said about the Husky 350 and 357,but what about the Husky 455 Rancher.
Neighbor has a Sthil 260 pro that he likes.
I do not like the local Sthil dealer but if there is a good enough reason to deal with him I will.
Husky dealer is OK but pricey and has a shop.
I have read a lot of the comments but would appreciate some suggestions from you knowledgeable people
Be well

If the 260 is sufficient, the Dolmar 5100S and the New Edition Husky 346xp probably are your best options - they both beat the 260 badly, but also weight a tad more - the Doilmar beeing the heaviest one.

If you want more power, the MS361 is the natural option.   :)
