had one of those days today. Cut a large white oak and started dragging and pow! broke the center driveshaft. The log truck started acting up also. I am taking it to the mechanic tomm. when i cut the white oak it broke a top out of a ash with a hollow top. I started limbing and looked up and honeybees were swarming. I managed to get a few chunks of fresh honeycomb which i shared with smvwoody.

At least you were able to have a little sweet with the bitter! Nothing like a little fresh honeycomb.

treefarmer this is what happens with a C5 Pulpwood Special. You have a 20,000# winch and 3-53 Detroit setting on a C4 running gear, it will not hold up when you get in a real hard pull.
Getter fixed up, and take it a little easier on the ole horse. When in a tough pull use the winch to break free.
Good luck with your pulling, the main thing is to stay at it, just another day at the office.

treefarmer87 hows it going ?  Heres what you need a Bell with a shear head and the saw head.
Go threw your timber first shearing firewood and pulpwood, its fun to shear, no bent saw bars or dull chains.
With all the junk wood out of your way put the saw head on and cut the saw log timber.
The shear head would work good in pine thinning, i think it would open some doors for you.
I had a 450 JD with a 15" Visco shear head, it did a good job, i couldn't take the pounding the cat gave me.

i think all of us have one of those days. I just hate it when a day turns into a week. :D. Couple of years back had the motor blow up on the skidder ^ cylinder john deere. Got it back going started back logging. Cut for about 5 hours then cutter motor blew up. Now that was a bad week. things got better after  spending 7 thousand dollars. ;D

Just go with it :) ;D  I've had my share of equipment issues the last few months.  Pretty frustrating sometimes but still better than working for someone else.  That's what I keep telling myself anyway  ;) ;D :) :)
