The Beech I cut at the end of February is already at 22% ! Makes me happy to know it will be ready
by fall. It is top covered and facing the sun, gets a good breeze too. I had no idea it dry that fast.

I noticed that the sap wood on it had a visible sheen of sap weeping out of it for weeks after I had stacked it. That must have something to do with it.
Woodmizer lt40G28.  A kubota L4600 with loader and forks.
Various Stihl saws and not enough time to use them!
Finished my house finally. Completely sawn out on by band mill. It took me 7 years but was worth it. Hardest thing I have ever done.

Becch tends to have lower moisture when green than the other common hardwoods around here (other than white ash, which is hard to beat). So it starts out dryer than, say Maple or Oak (plus Oak really likes to hold on to its moisture).

Just let that beech dry out in the log for a couple of years .It's about like cutting cast iron then .
