I have never sawn Brazilian walnut, but I have sawn greenheart/purpleheart pilings. I used a 7degree blade that woodmizer recommended. Sawed very nicely, but dulled out ridiculously fast. Expect to go through a pile of blades. The pilings I have were never driven and very clean,,,wood is just hard as heck. I thought about stellite blades but the cost is up there, I figure just keep sharpening my bands as need be. Needless to say, I hate sawing greenheart. I did, however, take a few piles to another FF member with a wide band mill (Ludo), and he said his mill ate it up,, with no noticeable wear on band.
My wife says I do everything in excess

I did a lot on planning on Ipe. I had to use carbide knives, steel knives wouldn't touch it.

Not ipe but I have sawn some azobe think it's close to same density. You are going to have to cut slow and change blades often .

Just got it done and only took four blades, Had enough soap in the water to blow bubbles. It was tough wood. Had about 30 1X6s 18 feet long.
