Anybody here have an account over at the Hearth forum? There is a guy there trying to install a flue
in his own house. It appears that he has some Simpson Dura-tech flue components and he doesn't seem to know how to put it together. He has his attic insulation guard protruding down through his finished ceiling. What he is trying to do just isn't going to work.
I would help him out but I don't want to register for another forum and I cant email him through the site without registering and creating an account there.
This guy could really use some help it looks like.

You don't "want" to, but you want someone else to do it for you? Why?
B.T., As I stated. I do not want to register for another forum, for my own reasons.
I would like to help the guy out if I could and so I asked in here if anyone was registered over there.
Whats your problem?

Thank you Woodsman. Another member r.man is a registered user over there and is forwarding my contact info to the gentleman that is having the difficulty assembling the flue. If he has any trouble contacting him I will take you up on your offer.
I did my own flue several years ago using the Simpson Duratech componets and remember vividly the steep learning curve I experienced trying to get it together. I just wanted to help the guy out and make life a little easier for him if I could. The system doesn't come with any instructions regarding assembly and it is hard to do when one has never worked with it before.
The thread over at Hearth is in the wood stoves and fireplaces forum if you want to take a look at it.
The man has his attic insulation guard attached upside down to what looks like his finished ceiling.
When I bought my flue components the tech at the fireplace shop said you need this and this and this, pulled it all out the stock room and said there you go. It took me a while to figure it all out.
