Greetings,

I am just wondering if anyone has any experience with mineral stain in White Oak or Burr Oak?  It is common as I know in Red Oak, but I have not yet ran into it in White Oak.  Is it less prone than Red Oak or have i just been fortunate to date?

Less prone in the white oak, I believe.

Red oak has a bacterial stain, that also causes the wood smell 'bad' in the tree and when sawing.
