Had a guy called needing about 100 box store size 2x4s. This is how I get the job done.

Find a big ole pine tree needs cutting down. I hook a rope and pull with a come along on windy days...safety first ;D

Cutting the notch

Got her down, thats my 36" bar, tree had 75 rings

Fork it out of the woods...didn't even touch the dirt. I love it! ;D

Bought a 1/4 mile ride to the sawmill. Get to relax for a minute..

Sawing

Yield some really nice quarter sawn 2x4s :D.  House quality!

Anyway...this is a typical day for the Dawg!  How do you do it?

I was going to say "how can you complete with the box stores", but you should be able to get a premium for that nice clear lumber.

Nice work!  That's pretty much how I do it if I'm sawing from my trees.  I prefer to saw other people's trees.

I'm going to be buying my first load of pine this week.  Some are similar to that one.

I'm working with a good friend's son who is a grading contractor.  The not so good logs will go through the firewood processor.  They will at least pay for themselves.

Now how are you going to compete with the twisted, warped, bowed, and knotty 2x4s that the box store sells when you're sawing beautiful lumber like that?! ;) :D

That's some beautiful flooring you turned into 2 x 4's there Dawg. Nice work!!

And just like that there gone :o...even in the rain! Also sold them a 12' long live edge oak slab...handy lumber to keep around $$$ ;D

I found these construction tote bags at sLowes to shoot the sawdust into, now I can sell some sawdust instead of dumping it in the woods. Works perfect  8)

You could do some research to find if there are mushroom growers in your area.
