JD 650 Dozer Question

Hey guys. I'm hoping to glean some wisdom here.

My 650g keeps going into reverse when I have it in a forward gear. It doesn't abruptly do it, but when I stop (depress clutch and brake) it will take back off in reverse.

Wiggling the shifter corrects the problem. No jarring or funny noises.

It's not particularly alarming but I'm afraid it's a sign of bad things to come.

Any clue what might be going on? Any help would of course be much appreciated.

I would start by examining the shifter linkage.  It may need to be adjusted.  Regards, Clark
