i have a 353 detroit in a timberjack 230 porter the starter went this morning and in the process of changing the starter i knocked a small drain pipe for something that was in the block behind it and antifreeze started to leak out obviously that is not supposed to happen ... ideas anyone ?????

bushmechanic

The drain tube you hit behind the starter is the air box drain. The only thing that is supposed to come out there is excess oil if the blower oil seals leak.If there is coolant comming out then it sounds like the liner o-rings are failing and leaking coolant into the air box.You had better check your engine oil to see if there is coolant in the base,if so antifreeze will strip the babbitt off the bearings in a short time when mixed with engine oil.Sorry probally not what you wanted to hear.
