Thought you folks might want to see this. I went hiking in southern Colorado and came upon an old steam-powered sawmill. Pretty interesting.

I'm definitely going back. We didn't get there until late in the day and it is a ways out on the trail. A pretty ambitious man who hauled it out there 100 years ago.

Kbeitz could probably have that old piece of iron sawing in about half an hour's time.  Thank you for showing the pictures.  Just imagine the stories this and other artifacts of bygone eras could tell if they could talk.

Dont give Kbeitz the location, he will take it home to PA to add to his collection of Junk er I mean stuff.

Big write up in our local news paper about a Steam powered Gang Saw that was found under the ground only a few miles from me this week. The main shaft was 16 feet long and looks to be around 10" dia.
