Tom

This is a small shrub and sometimes a small tree found in low areas down here.  Christmas is a hint.

the answer is Dahoon Holly.  It's kind of a poor-man's holly in the south even though we have American Holly.

Kevin

I can`t see it but sense it might be juniper?

Tom

I lost a post somewhere.

A-Ha-a---a----a !!!!

I'de a known that but all my kids are grown and gone and it's hard to keep up with the jokes anymore.

I'll use that one at lunch with the "oldtimers". :D

Jeff

Well, our 2000 post started out with the word
"A-Ha-a---a----a !!!!"

Tom! You get the honor! Guess what you win?

First ( and I aint kidding) I need 100 words in a text file having to do with forestry. They need to be formated like this....

dibble
girdle
whiteoak

and so on. the bigger the word the better!

After I get that, you will see your honor for being the 2000th poster!

send me the file in an email!

I have to wear the hat. My computer doesn't work if I'm logged onto the Forestry Forum without it.

I've got on my secret decoder ring, red cape and a batman utility belt too.

Boy Scouts are prepared! :)

QuoteTom, what would you be milling in Fla./Ga.?

---------------------------------
I mill lots of stuff but the commercial mills are basically Pine and Cypress.

I am a sawing service and cut Urban wood as well as Farm wood, so I get a lot of variety. A partial list off the top of my head is:
Water oak
Laurel oak
Live oak
Post oak
Black Jack oak (a misnomer since I think it is
                misnamed. Also called Turkey Oak
                down here.)
Pecan
Hickory
Pine
  Long leaf
  Slash
  Loblolly
  Sand pine
Pond pine or pocassin (not the best lumber)
Cypress
American Holly
Black gum
Sweet gum
Red Bay
Black Walnut (very seldom and it's small)
Paulownia (it is still experimental)
Eastern Red Cedar (Juniper)
Australian Pine (when I go to south Fla.)

Kevin

Tom,
That`s quite a list, nice pictures too but I only made to # 50, I`ll see the rest tomorrow.
Thanks for the link.
