Had one get me good last week. Cutting a 12" pine with my bobcat grapple against the tree about 10' up to push it over. Cut my wedge out then on the back cut well I kinda cut through the hinge. The tree slid off the stump and on top of the saw and in the time it took to think *DanG now what the tree fell backwards over the bobcat. The butt of it went right into me and threw me 17' backwards 6' high and landed flat on my back on top of a 3" stump 2" high and yes i was home alone. Broke 3 ribs 2 of the bones that stick out of your vertebrate, 5% lung collapse and a ambulance ride with 2 days in the hospital. 3 days later I still couldn't sit up and just barely with help. Know y'all like picks so here they are. I was standing by the stump in the shade and landed on the small one bottom of the picture.
And is that the BobCat under the Tree?

I have only been thrown once. That involved a shed. I had no idea what happened until I picked myself up off the ground. Chainsaw was about the same distance from the stump as I was,but in another direction.
Oof. Hope you get better soon, but I think rib stuff takes awhile :^(

Ouch. I don't think the picture does your injury justice. It looks like you got hit by a coffee cup.
Glad you are here to tell us about it. That could easily have gone some other way: landing on something that punctures you, or having the butt roll off the skid steer and come down on top of you.
I'm guessing you were able to get up to call or go for help? If I had taken that kind of beating, I may have just ended up lying there until someone came along.
