We'll just wait to see what breaks next. Well, the rear u-joint came loose and the shaft flailing around broke off the fitting where the release hose attaches to the park brake housing. How do I get that brake off and apart?
We took the rear driveshaft out completely so we can drag the machine out of the hole it's in with help from another skidder (TJ to the rescue). When the machine is out on the level, can I just drain the oil out of the rear axle and remove the yoke; then unbolt the brake assembly and slide it forward and off the pinion shaft? It's been out before for a previous owner, as the fitting and boss had already been welded on.
I'd kinda like to hear from someone who has done this job before I tackle it. Thansk
p.s. Pictures will be posted as I get into the job.

I have never worked on one before so I don't know what you need for a bolt or exactly where to put it but I do know there is a place to put a bolt in to release the brake similar to a caging bolt on a maxi.
