Where is a good simple place to buy online?
Perhaps a sponsor here?

Husq 51
Jug and piston kit
Fuel line and filter
Intake sleeve
And that other rubber tube thingy

Anything else I should consider?

Mad Professor

Lil Rd Barn are good people.

Ask them if they have NOS/OEM , or itallian tecomec. Tecomec was OEM quality, when the parts were Italy.

They did Ducati and high end bike parts,...no more  Chinesium...........

You get what you pay for.

I've seen Chinesium kits at $40. Why is that?   ....."my saw ran great for 3 years with ""chinesieum"".

Well I have 40 year old stihils, with LOTS work/cutting not fixing, that are like new inside...........

Not a Husqs person but know a bit.

Thanks that helped. I think I have everything I need coming.

Question.
Where this carb threads into the plastic, is there something I can do there to help those threads, silicone, loctite?

They are not stripped out, nor are they fresh.

I promise not to overload dumb questions ha.

logmason

Never ming my plastic thread fix question, I found a new part.

Heck I oughtta rebuild the bottom end too. Why stop now.

logmason

Pretty sure I have everything hunted down, except one part.
The rod bearing. Not the wrist pin bearing but the other end of the connecting rod at crank.

Anyone?

Al_Smith

I've never seen this model and obviously never worked on one .That being said as a general rule most chainsaws  use a rod bearing that is part of a rod/crankshaft assembly that has been pressed together to form a unit .If that's the case it's not just a simple task to change without special machinery and methods .

logmason

I thought that might be why I couldn't find it.
Seems odd but not surprised.

Obviously I didn't split it yet or I'd have seen.
No splitter jig or clutch tool.

I "think" I have everything else hunted and built in my head.
A winter project.

Have done GM and Mopar, along with a bunch of bikes and tractors, mowers etc. This'll be my first saw.

I have two of this model so chalk it up to required learning, and fun.

Thanks all three of you guys.

Al_Smith

Well crank or no crank I took the liberty of looking on e-bay for parts and it listed several thousand for this model ,several crank shaft assemblies .

Back together and running. Now that I've learned the weak points and where to buy parts, I'll likely tear down my other one for preventative maintenance. Thanks.
