Hey all! Just wanted to say hi and thanks to admins for adding me to the community. I'm in New Zealand and have a small Woodlot crew, running a grapple digger and a 664 Ranger. I've had a few minor issues with the skidder and have gained so much insight just from searching this forum as a guest. Stoked to be a part of y'all now! Tried to add a couple of shots of the old girl in action, hopefully it works... Love my 664! ;-)

Welcome to the Forum. Why you cutting down such small trees? Don't you think it would be better to let them mature a bit?  :D

Welcome to the Forestry Forum, LogStalker.

Those are some nice sized logs there.

Welcome LogStalker,  those 664 or great skidders.  The way the blade clyinders are protected is the best set up. I once did a 4bt Cummins swap on a 664.  Can't remember all the details but, but we had to change out some of the torque converter parts.  It has be sold several times since and it still shows up at the shop every four or five years.

Haha nope, just had to join two chains together to get round the butt.

Looks like a hitachi or Doosan 200 with a live heel. Are you guys required the auto shut heavy door guarding?

LogStalker

Doosan DX255LC No heel, Ensign swinging grapple. A lot of guys run the hydraulic guarded doors but this one has been set up with Marguard all round. Real good machine, has 15000 hrs on the clock but never misses a beat and does the job. Climbs well too, considering the grousers are getting down a bit.
