Looking to buy one, if anyone who has one would care to chime in I would appreciate it. Not much available local, New Holland, Tractor Supply. So I can't kick many tires, had one years ago that was made in England. Wish I still had it!
Mine is a Kubota...I think. So old there are no stickers left, just rust and orange paint. ::)
If I were going to replace it, I think I would get a King Kutter. I have one of their 3 point mowers and it is stout and reliable.
My BIL has had a King Kutter for several years and it has been a good tool. I bought a used 2 head Multivator a few years back and it been has been handy and reliable.
Thanks TK, King Kutter seems to get pretty decent reviews. Also wanted to get any feedback on reverse tines vs. forward.Seems to be a 3-400$ difference wonder if it's worth it? Thanks JV, that's 2 for king kutter!
I have a 5 ft King Kutter gear driven tiller that has taken a beating over the years and shows no sign of suffering from it. It's used behind a 28 HP (at PTO) tractor. Check and adjust your slip clutch in the driveline each season.
Like others, I have a King Kutter. It is about 10 years old and stands up to lots of use. I looked at a reverse tine but found it more expensive than you report. Liked the idea of fewer passes to prepare a bed, but two or three passes usually take care of a bed if you have removed grass and such.
I wouldn't be afraid of the KK.
I have used 4' and 6' Maletti tillers. They have been very durable.
My neighbor did my garden this year again, his is a blue new holland, and unless I''m mistaken,, many of these are made in the same shop, then decaled for whatever outfit is selling them. Brother Steve got a yellow one from a tractor supply center in SC, turns out it was made in the King Kutter Shop, but then decaled with that centers trade name. They all work, and will spoil you, happy for you,, wish I had one,,
I have a German made tiller for my X595 deere the tiller is green with Deere signage . That thing has been a good machine and gets lots of abuse . still on the tines that came with it when I got it used.
Thanks for the input, ordered a KK. Should be in in a week or two. 2 1/2 hour drive but $800 cheaper than nearest competition, also has more tines than most.
69bronco yer gona like the kingkutter I've had mine 10 years now like a timex takes a kicken and keeps on ticken
