I took my McCollough 3216 apart to r&r the fuel lines.  In putting it back together, I'm unable to get the throttle/carb linkage to work.  When connected, the linkage wire is above horizontal plane at the carb connection.  Not allowing the throttle trigger to move the throttle rearward.  Anyone have a pic or diagram of proper installation.  I don't think I'm missing any parts.....

Thanks in advance,
Jaay

Search web for "Mac 3216 Parts List". 1st one should be the IPL. Shows exploded fitment view. I just did an EB 2014 - trying to remember...maybe how the throttle latch/high idle fit against the trigger was a little odd.

Thanks Dougand3.  I've looked at the exploded views and they don't really reveal the connections.   Thanks for the input and if you remember the EB connection that may help.
Cheers

IIRC, the rod went in: 1. hole on trigger. 2. Hole in carb throttle plate under choke. 3. then carb goes down to mounting holes. Is the rod symmetrical? Maybe one side is longer than the other and should be reversed.

Throttle rod is identical either end.  Problem is when connected, the connection at carberator is higher than centerline and trigger is unable to pivot cam downward.  Applying pressure on rod near cam allows trigger to move...reverse install of rod does not change problem.

Could throttle rod be bent? IIRC, it's a flat double L. Be helpful if you could upload pics - gotta send to a gallery here and then link to them.
Another thing to do is look up each part on ebay and compare how they look to yours.

I'd link pics but Photo gallery is offline.  When i removed the carb, I didn't make any changes or midificxatio s to the rod or anything else.

It's got to be something obvious, that I'm not seeing.

Thanks for your help Dougand3.  I was putting the throttle rod in the wrong hole!  Thanks for your time and advice.

Glad it was an easy fix. I've started to snap a pic as I disassemble some parts....Like I may forget how the spring goes.
