sawed my decking out of white oak today.
had to use in two sections per run and stagger the joints.
bought the 12 ton trailer for $900.00 off of ebay no less.
worse than i expected after I got it home.
completely rewired.
new braekaway kit.
all new lights
replace four of the eight tires-had four almost new ones on it
all decking completely rotted.
placed new steel angle under splices for lumber to be bolted.
got a little crazy with the steel on the ramps. finished them up and while I am standing there admiring my work it comes to me that "hey I bet them suckers are real heavy now" :). yup. :(
hope I don't have to raise them more than 2 times a day.
Have to get some fasteners now and it will be done.

That wood is too pretty to be used for decking!  Nice job.

Two Saw,

That's a pretty nice trailer for $900.00 even though you had to do all that work. I have seen many like it or much worse roll through our shop for rebuilding. You will not regret overbuilding the ramps...You'd be surprised the abuse they take. I don't know many guy's that plane their oak before they use it for decking... ;D ;D   It looks great...hope ya don't have a Cat yer drivin' up on there..... ;D ;D ;D

That trailer will last a long time.......Good score.... ;D ;D ;D
Why not just 1 pain free day?

Next project -- hydraulics for those ramps.   ;D ;D It didn't take but a few hard days of work, followed by wrestling with those ramps, before we put a 12 volt power pack and hydraulic cylinders on our 15 ton model.  One man could lift them, two was better, but now the laborers fight over who gets to push the button. ;D ;D

I was thinking the same as Troy. Gotta be one of the perks of owning a sawmill when you can park your heavy equipment on furniture grade lumber!  8)
