Hello all.  It's been a while, but I'm ready to put up a bent in my home.  The span is 10'-3" and I'm wondering if this beam that I cut out of a fir about 3 years ago is still good.  It was a 9"x13", but my posts are 6" square, so I took my chainsaw mill and cut 1 1/2" of each face and here's what I ended up with.  I'm wondering if I could get some opinions on if the checks are going to weaken the beam substantially.
Thanks

that mill was not having fun.

i believe for #2 surface checking is unlimited, through checks that go to the other face are treated as splits and are limited to twice width,(from my understanding I would apply that rule from "a2" and to the right). need to check all that...

is shear high in this particular beam?
