Yep they passed a gas tax here in pa a year or two ago was to help with roads and we always have terrible roads. The money disappears and nothing gets better

Penn. just used NY as a model. Same here, except we've had gas taxes since I started driving in 1963. Brace yourself, they only go up from here. I never saw a tax that was ever reduced or eliminated.
Diesel here was 3.109 a week ago.

There is one station that charges 20 cents more for credit then cash/debit but most here are 10 to 13 cents more for credit.

Within the last year, nearly every station price for mid-grade is 20 cents more then regular and premium is another 10 to 12 cents on top of mid-grade.  So, when regular is $3.19, mid is $3.39 and premium is $3.49 to $3.51 or so and diesel is $3.95.  It used to be that diesel was right around the regular gas price or a little lower.

Anyone else seeing this trend (20 cent jump between grade) or is this just a local (California) thing?

I use cash for everything but online stuff. I like the simplicity. I give you cash, you give me stuff. Straightforward, and good luck hacking my wallet. You might get something more than regrets, but it probably isn't worth it  ;^)

Out here there is a distinction between Debit and Credit.  MOST places treat Debit like Cash - same price.  The exception is ARCO - AM/PM.  They charge a fee of 35 cents per transaction on debit cards and they do NOT accept credit cards. I try to NEVER go there - a matter of principle.  On a full tank of gas, its like paying 2 or 3 cents more per gallon.

Nearly everyone else charges 10 cents more when you use your credit card.  Credit card companies charge 3 to 6% to the merchants for the "convenience" of the card.  So they are just passing it along (with a markup).  I patronize a station that charges the same price no matter what you are using.  So I use my credit card and get 1% cash back. ;)

$2.89 for regular $3.19 for diesel. It is about 15-20 cents a gallon cheaper in 2 of the adjacent counties and about 40-45 cents a gallon cheaper if we cross the line over into Virginia.

Just realized Pa must have upped the gas tax again. NY is .30 ($3.39 vs $3.69) a gallon cheaper than Pa on diesel. I am going to NY for Fuel from now on. How sad is that!

I drove on fumes to get thru Pa.to spend my money elsewhere.  Then I spent money on food also after filling up in Maryland.  The savings bought my lunch. ;) My memory of Pa is one of being starved and stressed.  It's a very long stretch on 81.  A rookie trucker might fill up once but learn a quick lesson from it.

As of yesterday (didn't go out today), regular was down to $1.83.  On the radio, they said to fill 'em up!  Switching to summer blend today and expect a 30 cent jump in price!  :-[  Great, costs more and I get about a 20% drop in MPG.  Makes a whole lot of sense to burn more gas to improve the air quality... ::)

Well we are back up to $2.09 and holding for the last few days (26 cent jump in a few days)

Up to $2.21 now - up 38 cents since they announced the 30 cent jump. :-\

Holding at $2.41
Ahh, the good old days! ;)
Cheapest regular is $3.19 and diesel is $3.95/gallon.
Diesel is "holding" at $3.95 and regular is catching up - now $3.47
