I'm building a shed out of ponderosa pine I fell on my property in SE Oregon and milling the wood myself. What's the best treatment of the fresh cut wood to prevent insect, mold, fungus and UV damage?

I'm no expert but what I'd do is just build it! dont do anything to it until next year, then stain, seal, sikens with bug juice etc. after it has dried, shrank etc.

Biggest thing is to make sure its stacked properly, stickers spaced appropriately so it doesn't cut or sag. Cover the top of pile with an old piece of tin if your worried about UV damage. The best stain / wood treatment we use is 1/2 used engine oil, 1/2 fuel oil, couple coats and your good for a while.
