adding an external alternator to my Lt30

Dear Brain trust,
Will a 61 amp delco alternator power a MKII debarker.At present the mill only has charging coils.There are no hydraulics and I'm thinking[dangerous,I know] the 106 amp alternator is overkill.

Don't those around 20 to 25 hp engines put out around 20 amps, I'd think that would be enough to run a debarker as it's only run maybe 25% of the time.  Steve

Any one wire 60 to 105 amp would be a good choice... you can get any 12-17si and replace the reg with a one wire reg...
I'm happy anywhere south of the mason-dixon line.
