Turner creeping. An issue?

I've noticed that my log Turner will creep and stick above the bed if the mill isn't run for a couple days. What causes this? Bad seals? Will it hinder anything?

It's anxious to go to work!!  :D My guess is you are getting bleed by in the valve body allowing the spring to retract the piston up a little bit.

My wood splitter will extend a bit too, I figured it must be the hydraulic fluid expanding as it warms up in the sun.

Easy fix.  I did a rebuild on the cylinder and Wood-Mizer had the kit.

I have a rebuild kit sitting here I need to install at some point to remedy my creeping toe board.

This can happen if the cylinder is not all the way down and the log get dropped on it while it is up a bit. Rolls and damages the internal seals.  Rebuild will fix it.

Thanks all. I ordered the rebuild kit today for the Turner and clamp. Now just to find the time to fix them.
