My water pressure is having problems. It will run a couple minutes ok then the water quits for a few seconds then comes back. Its getting worse,it started pausing for one second now it takes 3 or 4 seconds for it to pick back up.
  Well pump or holding tank???

Could be the check valve that is inline after the pump. My wifes grandpa had that problem and we changed the check valve and it fixed the problem. Check valve was bad and letting watter bleed back down the line and suck in air and pump kicked on and off and water paused as you mention.

IF it is a bladder tank, sounds like bladder is hitting bottom of tank. To much air   take some out or raise the start pressure, air should be 2 lbs. less than start pressure.  Can you tell how much the pump is running?

Replies 1&2 are good things to check, also if you have a treatment system such as a softener or filter that requires a back flush cycle that could be a problem if that's not functioning properly. Another thing is  the wholehouse filter could need replaced if there is one. Good luck!

Thanks for the ideas.
I cant tell when the pump is running.
And I have no filters or softeners.

Is it a submersible water pump? If so pull the well cap turn on the water and listen for water falling back down into the well. This would indicated a split or crack in the water line which is above the pump. There will be no real water pressure on the line in front of the pressue tank until the pump kicks in.  I learned this the hard way a couple of years ago on the coldest, wettest, windest day of March. One hydraulic well rig, couple hundred feet of new pipe and about $300.00 later I was back in the water business.

Your water tank could be water loged. I would start there first. Shut down the power & drain the tank then start it back up & see what happens. If thats not it then it might be the diaphram on the side of the tank. It's a process of elimanation after that. Cheyenne
