I put a 1X4 fir and larch t&g floor in my current house. I stickered it in my basement for a couple months before installing and shrinkage was minimal if at all. My plan in next house is to do the same with lumber I make myself and install as is.Im thinking if properly dried t&g is not an issue. Is their any down side to this? Anyone out there gone this route?
Oh and the planing thing, home depot has a 3 head planer for $400.00. I realize that it would be slow but for my personal use would something that small work?
