Finally pulled the trigger on a new shop. I have just outgrown the basement but it has served me well. At 2550 sq ft I know its already too small but will have to make due.

Started framing today

That's a good sized building. What kind of shop is it going to be?

Congratulations, wish my shop was 2,550 sq. ft.

It is primarily a woodworking shop. I provide custom millwork for residential builders.

I like Cranes. ;D
I'm driving down the freeway this morning about 8:30.  So after the main rush hour but still a bit of traffic - moving at 65-75mph.  There is a big, bright yellow (brand new looking) crane - 8 wheels.  Real sweet looking.  Four front steering and 4 rear.  The kind with the large turret cab, extending boom and a truss like folding boom tip along side.  He's bouncing along at 70-75 mph cutting in and out of traffic!  I just shake my head and back off the peddle to let him move away.

Kind of.  I looked at these and they are more robustly built than what I saw.  The cab was only a 1 person size and the boom was lighter weight than anything I could find on the web. The closet I saw was a Demag (by Terex) scale model.  It was Liebehr yellow, though.  What I saw was the sports car of cranes - at least the way he was driving it! :D  It was 4 axle but single large tires on each, not duals.

That's a pretty low number.

Just remember:  No layout plan survives first contact with the work.

I surely do miss my shop. I would have added more windows.

Ha, so true. Thats why I didn't attempt to run any power in the slab.

Its hard to believe its been a little over 2 years since I moved in and still haven't finished the outside. Remember there is a story about glass houses.... :D

Work has been crazy, crazy busy but have managed to saw some poplar to use as shakes then saw into shingles and managed to get one of the small gables complete and now working on the 2 larger gables. I still promise that once I finish the outside, I will get it cleaned up before staining the exterior and do a complete shop tour.....

I have re-arranged my shop twice since moving my equipment in.  And then I bought a couple new pieces and had to re-arrange it again.  DC takes some time to get layout the best.  I dropped plugs from the ceiling so did not have to move anything on the floor.
Most everything I enjoy doing turns out to be work
