Well I guess I picked the right month to finally find a game of loggin course!  I will be taking Cutter I and Cutter II training classes October 29-30.  This program is put on by the Indiana Forestry Industry Council.   The best thing is that after looking high and low for a course within a days drive, this course is being taught in Morgan-Monroe State Forest just a few miles from my home.
Yippeeee!  8) 8)
Yep, I am going to learn how to actually fall a tree where I want it to go  :P :P :P
May even learn how to turn one during the falling process like Kevin was describing to me at the picnic.
After decades of trial and error I will finally learn how it is meant to be done  :)

Hey One, I think that's where we all started.
Place the notch, make the felling cut and hope it goes where you want.
Too many times it doesn't because there's more to felling a tree than just cutting it.
Good for you, you'll learn lots.
Ask lots of questions and take notes.
