Title: 8" Duct Fans
Post by: WranglerSS on July 30, 2017, 08:39:56 AM
Has anyone used these for a solar kiln? I'm thinking about 4 or maybe 5 to get the CFM  needed.

I'll be interested to see the responses to your question.  I like the size and the fact that they're metal.   I'm not in love with the box fans.

I was also looking at a 'high-velocity' floor fan which the sell at any of the box stores.  All metal.   About $60.00  Listed as 1100-1800 cfm more or less.  Maybe use a single fan with some vanes to direct the air flow out to the sides.

I use them in my DH kiln. They're rated at 260 degrees and so far have been holding up well. Mine don't draw more than half an amp so there economical. The model I have puts out a little over 400 cfm if that helps. You have to get a little creative with the mounting.
