Egg Nog recipe and/or favorite additive

I have not made egg nog before, just bought pre made.  Then dress with a bit of ginger brandy or amereto.

Do y'all have some favorite non secret family recipes or additives you'd share?

It was the same year as the great Smore Incident.  Since that year, I only have two ingredients in my eggnog, and by coincidence, it is the same two ingredients I use to make a smore. Since no one is going to be here today, and we only need to wander next door for dinner, I am on my second egg nog and about ready to have a smore.  ;D

I like it with a little Meyer's Dark Rum, and some nutmeg grated on top. About one a year is my quota.

That is the only way I will drink dark rum. We didn't buy any this year, we do have Appleton's but I don't mix that with anything except ice cubes.

Also what is the smore recipe?

My father in law made his Egg Nog. Don't have the recipe. He would then doctor it as necessary!

This makes a wonderful thick and very rich eggnog. I left out the whiskey, I don't drink the stuff ;D
