slabbing big pine, how big of a bar can I attach to a husqvarna 373 xp?

Found this pine, and few others. Too big for the saw mill. Might have to slab it in place just to get it out.

You are going to be working you and the saw pretty hard slabbing with anything longer than a 24" bar. A 36" will fit but you don't want to go there.

A 28" bar is common here, but I am not sure how well that would work on a mill.

I am more interested on what the lumber does on that split trunk tree.

I use a 32" on mine. I also use 63PMX ripping chain which leaves a 1/4" kerf. Mills real nice. 
Turbosawmill M6 (now M8) Warrior Ultra liteweight, Granberg Alaskan III, lots of saws-gas powered and human powered :D

Thanks for the replies. The saw is new and it came with a 24 and 36" bars. I'll have to find an Alaskan or Granberg and see what I can do. Either that or just eyeball it.

Yeah starmac, me too, I'd like to see of the fork will survive. I'm thinking making a couple waterfall style tables.
