I made my final purchased this afternoon. A MS362. I now have the MS661, MS362, MS261 and a 180C. I think that will about do it. Thank God my wife has no problem with me buying what I want and never gives me a hard time.

What do you guys have? Post what you are running!

4 saws? I'd say your CAD is just starting to kick in. I have a 372XPW
An 075 Stihl, several McCullochs (all 10 series thru SP81E), and a few other brands thrown in like Poulan, Craftsman(Solo), and maybe a Homelite or 2. At any one time I have 4-5 runners and pick
One that suits me at the time, depending on the task at hand. I really like running the Macs, they are the most fun 8)
Turbosawmill M6 (now M8) Warrior Ultra liteweight, Granberg Alaskan III, lots of saws-gas powered and human powered :D

alabama

@ MAD that is a lot of chainsaws  :) What does CAD stand for?

I have it and have it bad! All I do is think about chainsaws. ;) I'm really glad I found this forum too.

I have over 30 saws almost all brands except for the cheap new ones, around the sawmill I'm running a Echo CS400  or Cs600p a lot, once in a while bring out the 7900 Dolmar, 385xp Husky or 372 Husky to keep them lubed up.  Steve

current lineup is all orange.

334 top handle 14" bar
346xp original edition, no decomp, no primer bulb 16" bar
372xp 20" bar
371xp 75ccs ported, 24" bar

that covers everything I need to cut. the middle two get the most hours.

I have a 395XP with 20", 24", and 32" bars. If I were to buy more saws, I would buy more 395's so I wouldn't have to change bars.
Wood-Mizer LT40HDD51-WR Wireless, Kubota L48, Honda Rincon 650, TJ208 G-S, and a 60"LogRite!

alabama-  Sounds like you have a saw for just about every occasion, now you just need a chainsaw on a stick (pole saw), then all the bases will be covered  ;D.

My personal lineup is prety small, 372XP/24", 455 Rancher/20" and getting ready to rebuild my 024AV. Hope to get the 024 going for a limbing saw since it's a fair bit lighter than my 455.

Funny you say that. Actually I do have a Stihl chainsaw stick. The big one. I've used it a couple times and man can it get heavy fast! Bought it a couple years ago.

Why I came home with a 362 today myself.  It's bolstering a 261 and shelving an 026.  Came pretty close to coming home with a 562XP but prefer bar/chain maintenance on the Stihl.  Good dealer as well.

I've only used one of the big Stihl pole saws a couple times and yea they do get heavy quick. My dad has a smaller Husqvarna pole saw that I've used quite a bit and it's even a prety good work out using it for extended periods. They sure are handy though.  :)

YOUR THOUGHTS PLEASE!!!
Currently just have a MS 291 with 18" bar, love it. I can't decide if i wanna get a MS 461 for bigger stuff or get a MS 362 C-M and use it for everything. I load my truck by hand and split with an axe so I don't really mess with anything too big. My girlfriend  does most of the limbing with her 450 husky.😆

I'm one sided all stihl, now 2 661's. 1 tired 660. Wore out several other 660. Had only 1 460, it got tired but finally finished of with a plunge in 6ft deep creek wide open. Locked up the next day.

@thutch85

The MS 362 handles a 20" bar with out problems so I would not go with the bigger, heavier 461 no need to.  I run a 16" bar for most of the work on the 362 but for the bigger I got a 20" and above that I get the MS661 out with the 25" or 36" bar but the 36" is not funny to use and mostly run on the sawmill.

Is there a AAD ( Axe Addiction Disorder) if so I think I may have it.. :D

I grew up using Stihl and Homelite for firewood. Used a Stihl 026 for the past 18-20 years (the same one, and it's still going strong). My father currently has it and uses it regularly.

Recently I've decided to see if Husqvarnas are as good as everyone claims they are. And so far, they're right. Even the little 435 "homeowner" I was given as a gift has run strong. Works great for limbing.

Currently I have a 372XP, an old 55 Rancher, the 435, and just yesterday I figured I'd try the fancy red cousin. Found a Jonsered 2152 and managed to snag it for $110. I plan on stretching its legs in the next week or so. Got lots of work lined up the next couple of months so it will get a chance to prove itself real soon.

I think 4 chainsaws will cover it for me, but I've been down this road before and the results are always the same. I've already talked to the local dealer about ordering a husky 555 or 562xp.

Hey man I was in the same boat as you last year...only difference is I did need a 25" bar and a saw that could run it with authority.....well the 461 cuts hard wood with the 25" bar like butter, I love the saw....

Now I also have a ms362, and I keep a 20" bar on it....people say it will run a 25" bar....I am sure it would be ok sometimes, but I don't know if I would want it to wear the 25" on a daily basis....however, with the 20" bar the 362 has been flawless for me and was my main saw until I got the 461.....

To me sounds like a ms261 or the ms362 would be perfect for you!!!!

Let us know which you get!!!

I just had an MS 270 until I bought my new MS 461 w 20" b/c last month. Boy let me tell ya something, it is a spectacular machine, and the more fuel you run thru it, the stronger it gets. Very pleased

Yep he is right, you will keep noticing the saw getting better till it has upwards of 15-20 tanks threw it.....

The new 362 had it's first day in the woods untangling blowdowns that were hung-up and happy where they were.  Love the additional power (over my 261)  - gave me much more confidence on these ~16in loaded stems.

Drivadesl

That's a great lineup of saws you have. I'm half way to you with an MS361 and MS660. Looking at a MS241 now for a limbing saw, that should have me covered for most of everything I do.

Not a dream team but this is most of what we use in our tree business and at my saw mill. There are several that are not in the pic, including our 2 top handle saws. one 192 stihl and a newer 193.Those are  the work horses. Fine saws for up in the bucket.
We don't use most of these at one time. I was getting all of them  serviced one day and took this pic. This is not about bragging.AL Smith or LadyLake could knock me off the pedestal in  hart beat. And many more on here I am sure.
The 880 and ms 362 are new.The ms361 is 10 years old and my favorite.The ms 461 is next.The 880 has a 36 in bar and the 461 has a 32in bar.Then there is a 362xp a husky 61,A ms251.The 038 av is a spare.Wish it was a magnum.
The pole saw is brand new and my first.Boy is it heavy.I would about soon lug that 880 than hold that pole saw up for long.

@Georgia  :) If you didn't call that the dream team then I'm not sure what you would call it? The mod squad? That's a lot of Stihl on the ground. Thanks for sharing too! :)

.We have a great stihl and husky dealer here that we support.I guess the old 361 has kept me loyal to stihl for so long. Although a new 70 cc husky would be tempting .

So do you use the 461 a lot....I have one myself and I love it...I only cut hardwood, and mine wears a 25" bar....

Wow the 32" is a huge bar....does the 461 pull it ok in hard wood buried???
