Just milling around (and planing) today...

White Oak and Beech.  Dry milling.  Dry wood(120+ years).  8X8's from Reclaim.
Anything someone can design, I can sure figure out how to fix!
If I say it\\\\\\\'s going to take so long, multiply that by at least 3!

Nice beams Brad. Have they been planed yet? If so, it looks like a little chatter going on. probably nothing that can't be sanded out...
What is this leisure time of which you speak?

A No. 4 1/2 would be better than sanding. Those beams look great. :)

5quarter, they have been planed with the MP100 beam planer.  In the right light you can see the light "chatter".  With the hand it's very very faint and feels pretty darn smooth.  These are 8"x8" x12-14 footers.  I don't think I'd sand them- too much work, and they look pretty darn good for a timberframe.
