This is my first post. I'm an aspiring wood dryer (virgin) and wondering if anyone is using a ductless mini split heat pump as the drying unit for their kiln? Any advice or experince with this would be appreciated. Thanks.
Sawing isn't about the lumber, it's about the wood.

When using a heat pump for lumber drying, we usually have both the condenser and evaporator coils within the kiln.  In this way, we can recover the heat of evaporation.  So, there is no need for a split system.  As a rule of thumb, we require about 1 hp per 1000 BF of lumber.
