Has anyone heard the term "Flypie" for a certain type of snack cake or is it just an old mountain saying? Called one that the other day at a store and they looked at me like I was crazy.

Maybe Shoofly Pie, which is a molasses pie.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shoofly_pie

We tried it at an Amish restaurant.

That's what it is, shoofly Pie, made with molasses. Sometimes pecans are added too.

Forgot to include what a flypie is. Sorry. It's a little debbie or other brand snack cake. I guess it is vanilla with a creme filling that is sort of a golden tan and has three or four raisens baked onto the top. Looks like flies landed on it. Maybe the official name is raisen cakes.
