Anybody watch the show on (I think) The Discovery Channel!

We were watching the show on the 21st and ole Mick had an issue and went to see some of his friends who lived in the Rain Forrest.

Well, he was visiting one of them and it looked like he had a pretty nice shop set-up and the camera was panning around the yard when I spotted a "new", at least I didn't see any dirt on it, Wood-Mizer LT40 sawmill.

Didn't show it more than a few seconds, but that was enough!

Funny how quickly we can spot things when we're familiar with them.

Yup, I saw it and was hoping that it would become a topic.  Of course the show is scripted for entertainment and actual reality is not there.

Chuck,

Yes I occasionally watch it and spotted the WM mill. It comes on the National Geographic channel. He's quite a character. I'm waiting for him to meet Bigfoot then they can show him on several series.

That show and Alaska bush people are the  biggest waste of time on TV !!!!!I watched Mick one show he walked for days to tap a maple tree and drink the sap, that was there idea of maple syrup !!!!! I guess i cant take much foolishness in my old age!! Axe men can get thrown into the bunch also. Im sure the guy with the sawmill probably knows how to use it !! ;D

You're right Lynn, the show is deffinately scripted.

If you "Google" Mick Dodge you'll see he sleeps most every night in a house and not the rain forest!

But hey, he is an interesting old codger, and besides that, I knew an old feller locally (he's deceased now) who could've been an identical twin to Mick.

I have figured out that Saw Mills must be classified as MAJOR PORN on TV shows!
When ever one appears it will be shown for a split second and then gone.
You will see more Boobies than Saw Mills!  Show me both!  :D

Alaskan bush people is a total load of crap..waste of programming IMO. Ol mick dodge while it is all scripted is somewhat entertaining.... At least it isnt filled with yelling and screaming and faked injuries like another popular scripted show aka axe men. IMHO logging shouldn't be scripted just to put on a show. Good way to get guys hurt for real. However shelby is quite the character  :D

Mooseherder

Been too busy watching Redneck Island, Building Alaska,  Yukon Men,  Life before Zero, Live Free or Die, Gold Rush, Treehouse Masters,  Wild West Alaska, Pawn Stars, Barnwood Builders and Down East Dickering.  That's about a third of the repertoire.  The DVR is getting a workout.  Great TV era IMO.  ;D
Even the scripted stuff is better than programming of the past.  It all gets recorded and fast forwarded to the interesting parts, scenery or flavor of the day.

"Barnwood Builders" is pretty good :)

All the shows mooseherder listed are recorded on our dvr  ;D. Much better than plain cable. DVR is my familiy's best friend :D

Roxie

Speaking of a good reality series, has anyone caught "North Woods Law" on Animal Planet?  Game wardens in Maine!  It's like a "Cops" for forest folks.  Good stuff.

Say when

Chuck White

We watch that show whenever we can catch it Roxie!

Great show, down to earth and seems like the real deal!

Yes, it's on the record list.  :)
Some of the stuff they stop people over is petty though.  Florida Cops wouldn't even bother with some of it.

Bill Gaiche

I like the north woods law shows also. Great people and some pretty scenery. People working to preserve wildlife and nature for he future.bg

One of the guys on Yukon Men has a woodmizer that shows up every once in a while...At least I think it was Yukon Men...Banjo

Tim; I think that is "Life Below Zero", good show, we watch it!

I remember he floated the LT40 from Eagle, AK to his home, on two boats, ganged together!
