My mill is falling apart, I think the Cat might be too much. :D :D
The blade guard fell off. I welded it back on. But it fell off the #2 time I put it in a pile.

Then the cover would make a lot of noise and the bolts strip out. It went in the pile too. :D :D

Then today I found this.

Sounds like a can ½ full of rocks. :D

So what I'm getting is a Lean/mean sawing machine.
And a pile of tin. :D :D :D :D :D :D

Radiator guard/shroud, took mine off after the factory/wmz recall with the first original radiator. The stampings, guards/shields on these mills are clearly made from too high of a carbon material, which has been been proven to be prone to premature cracking from the vibrations from IC engines.
only have a few chain saws I'm not suppose to use, but will at times, one dog Dolly, pretty good dog, just not sure what for yet,  working on getting the gardening back in order, and kinda thinking on maybe a small bbq bizz,  thinking about it,

Peter,

Our 2013 lt40sh has shed those same rattlers. It isnt the diesel engine on it since its electric.

The older mills I have had were already bare bones.

This is even worse, steel is too brittle, strong but in the wrong application I suppose,

I have had a couple of breaks but nothing that rivets and brazing would/did not repair.  I still have all of my guards & covers on the sawmill.

But with less tin the mill is lighter and cuts faster. :D :D :D

Weld a 1" square block of steel in the center of the guard. Chances are the
vibrations will go away.

This works with most any thing that's vibrating. Your changing the harmonics.

Best way is to buy a heavy super magnet and stick it on in different spots
to find the sweet spot before welding anything on.

Nary a crack or vibration issue at all.

Any intermittent vibration I did have disappeared since I ditched the B57 Belt on the drive side wheel. Just shy of 1600 hrs today.
