Tam-i-am

Just before Christmas our landlord asked if we would be interested in moving to our own building.  After a lot of thought and negotiations we signed a lease.  Really the hardest part was getting the lawyers to agree on the verbiage in the lease.   We signed it yesterday and began the demo work necessary to set up our shop.  The new building is just across the street.

side and back of building

Still need landlord to move his vehicles out of the space.

We hope to be close to all moved in by our open house on April 21.

That's the prototype Logrite limo.    Production units will be equipped with a factory installed log arch and available only in Logrite Blue color.
Been there, done that.   Never got caught [/b]
Retired and not doing much anymore and still not getting caught

Nice space.  Is it bigger (how much) than your current?  Are you planning on adding new lines or processes?  Moving more work in-house?

Congrats on the new "digs".  Now we will have to come back to be able to continue saying that we have visited Logrite's "factory".  move_it

Remember I said we were not planning on moving.  The landlord lost their tenant and it would be easier to get someone like us who needs an open floor to rent the whole building then trying to subdivide so they smooth talked us until Kevin gave in.

It is true, we brought several processes in house last year.  The new equipment makes it tight on the floor.  Since the move made sense we decided to go for it.  Sometimes you just have to take advantage of opportunities when they come along.

As for all the vehicles in the shop they belong to the landlord although I would love to help him out with the R8 against the wall. ;D

It will give us about 25% more room. And a lot more parking area which will be great for the Open House.

Red - it looks like Kevin will have 2 offices in the new building: one for admin work and one for mfg

Looks like you answered the door when opportunity came a knocking.
Congratulations on the move!
Also, a Logrite "quick delivery option" might involve that Audi.  😎  😆

So the old room is down and will be rebuilt after the electrical work is done.

The building also has a mezzanine set up for storage.  We started filling that space with non-production items.
The people who were in the building before us made trade show displays so there is interesting creative things all over the office area.  Here is a doorway that will be ripped out.

That is an air filtration system.  We need to clean the air from the plasma cutter.  For the new building we our switching from a water table to a down draft table.  Which is supposed to be delivered today!

Yesterday we started to clear the lumber yard but due to the amount of rain today that project is on hold.  So today we started some electrical work.

We don't want the headache of owning the building.  The building is as old as Kevin and has a few issues bigger than I want to have to take care of.  (Besides some day I'd like to get out of Connecticut ;))

xlogger - you are correct loading doors are crucial!  We 4 of them all different types.

This is the back corner of the building.  It has a standard loading dock for all our pick ups and some deliveries.  The other door we are most excited about as it is a 14' door that we can pull our box truck into.  This will be the door that all the metal will come in.

These two doors are closest to the road.  One is just ground level door and the other has a lift.  Probably won't use these for much.
What is cool about this picture is you can see the second building we were in and if the corner of the new building wasn't in the way you could see our old spot at 77 industrial park rd.

This is the inside of that 14' door.  We just took delivery of the new table for the plasma cutter.

Well it is official we are in and operating at the new building!  Things that are not required for production have not been put away so some areas are a little unorganized.  I'll have to get a few pics for you once a couple of things have been cleaned up.  Until then I thought you might find this interesting.  We moved to the Vernon Industrial Park in 2007 and since that time we have been in 3 of the 4 buildings.  Looks like we will be staying here awhile as there are no more buildings to move into.
