I have the opportunity to buy a 543xp,it is a new saw and qualifies for the husky mail in rebate being offered right now.  I did a little research and it appears it is a made in Japan saw red max saw, made for Husky.Does anyone have any experience with this saw? thx DonT

Redmax which Husky now owns has a very good reputation as a quality product.
old age and treachery will always overcome youth and enthusiasm

Did you ever buy it?  I bought one about a year ago and just love mine.  You can cut all day and never feel it because it is so comfortable.  Probably not the most powerful saw out there, but gets the job done for what I need it to do

Had one for a few years, a really nice little saw that is very easy to start. Might not be a power house, but to try and judge it that way misses the point of a saw like the 543. Easy to start, runs well....easy to re-start. Basically easy to live with quality built little saw.
