Well I had my first regeneration today.  :D :D :D
That engine got Hot!

It was an automatic regen. I didn't know it was coming. I have been keeping an eye on the soot level. I figured I would have to do it manually but when it got to 78% a banner appeared saying
"Automatic Regeneration".
I stopped sawing and left the blade engaged to keep the engine at a high RPM.
It took about 20 minutes and the banner went away at 20%.

But I tell ya, that diesel was cooking.

Seems like a waste, should be able to at least warm up your lunch or make some coffee with it.

I am assuming that all of the heat was coming out of the exhaust.  Could you have kept sawing?

Yes I could have and did finish my slab. After that I decided to just let it run its course so I could spend time watching the numbers change on the dashboard and writing numbers down so I could remember stuff.

Opened up my skid plate today that WM sent me.

There were no directions but the only way it would fit was to remove the existing washer and replace it with my new bigger washer  skid plate. The skid plate and the washer are the same thickness.

No problems installing it and this is what it looks like.

The photo looks like you installed the skid plate upside down....    All joking aside - did it make a difference?

I installed it last thing today. I will see tomorrow and post.
Had a problem today with blades jumping off...forward.
Realigned the wheel on the idle side and it fixed it but then had to realign the blade.
My drive belt tension had dropped to below 12 so I tightened it back to 19.
Going through the break-in period of a new mill....but its fun.  8)

Whats the skid plate gonna do for ya do ya reckon?
Boy, back in my day..

Looks like it limits the amount the blade can cut in.

Thats the whole point.  ;D The blade cuts like a skill saw now and goes to deep and stalls the rotation and the breaker clicks off.

Ahh I see.  Myn doesn't cut too deep on the 70 and I have yet to trip the breaker on the debarker and when I have extra dirty logs I'll hold the button in on the debarker for the whole cut just lay her right into it
