I am green with envy.  I have turned some dogwood but have not had any big enough to mill yet.  Not easy to dry but worth the trouble.
You may think that you can or may think you can't; either way, you are right.

mesquite buckeye

Funny how those supposed junk species contain some of America's most beautiful wood. :-\
Manage 80 acre tree farm in central Missouri and Mesquite timber and about a gozillion saguaros in Arizona.

Very nice.  Our Dogwood trees seldom get that large.

Lynn,I think this tree was about 35 tears old.The trunk was only around 9 to 10 inches. The growth rings were wide witch came as a surprise to me.I was expecting very tight rings.

Claybraker

I'm guessing Augusta National or Callaway Gardens.  :)

Claybraker I doubt you will find Slider in either of those places.  :D
Two LT70s, Nyle L200 kiln, 4 head Pinheiro planer, 30" double surface Cantek planer, Lucas dedicated slabber, Slabmizer, and enough rolling stock and chainsaws to keep it all running.

I have a dogwood in my front yard that is probably 16"

drobertson

The bigger ones are far and few between, but they are there, out in the timber, I've seen some 12" and pretty much straight,  growing with white oaks, in the bottoms,
only have a few chain saws I'm not suppose to use, but will at times, one dog Dolly, pretty good dog, just not sure what for yet,  working on getting the gardening back in order, and kinda thinking on maybe a small bbq bizz,  thinking about it,

Our Dogwoods will be blooming very soon.  They are generally close behind the Redbuds which are now in full glory.
