One of the mills is having an auction here Saturday. They have a Meadows # 3 portable mill, hydraulic set( looks like an addon to me). Also has a top saw and steel husk, off bearer belt. Everything set on a trailer. Anybody have any experience? I have never seen a set up like this before, looks like it might have some potential as a tie mill.

What are the thoughts on this thing?

Why do you think it only has potential as a tie mill?
Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large groups.

That would be for my use. Ties are the high production for me. Have the LT40 for the slick stuff. In an area full of circle mills the finish from the mizer is the big selling point for custom orders.

Gday

To soon. Im coming over there aprl may next year to buy a #2 auto and have a look around for about 6 months . If You get it you can use it to breakdown flitches for the WM if your customers prefer a band finish you will get more production this way .bands like clean flitches . there is a few sawmills doing it that way over there that Ive read about .If Your not after production it will just make your life a hell of alot easyer .
