They have to be uploaded to the gallery first. Have you done that?

I've tried the upload and I can upload but haven't figured out how to move from the gallery. I have bout decided the file is too large or that is the way it is behaving, but that makes no sense to me.

Since the gallery format upgraded a short time ago. I can no longer post old pics from my gallery. But no problem uploading new pics from my phone and posting.
I just write my post. Then to add a pic I click on the blue click here box below . It take me to the gallery where I click at the very top "upload file". Then click on grey "select album box" then click my name album.
Click on grey "choose album" box then my phone camera's pics show up . Click on pic and done then pic uploads. When done uploading the pic is in gallery then click on "add to post" and "ok". Then click on the back arrow several clicks to get back to post which has pic on it.
Hit post.
